Dear Members and Colleagues,

On behalf of the Women in Finance, Victoria committee, we thank you for supporting our events over 2008–09, your support is appreciated!  We would like to take this opportunity to invite you to join us as a member of Women in Finance in the 2009 – 2010 Financial Year.

Women in Finance is about providing a platform so that Women in Financial Services – no matter what stage of their careers – are provided with a forum for professional development.  We aim to assist members to build their professional networks, meet new friends and be inspired to meet new goals.

In 2008-09, WIF were no different to other organisations and we also experience the effects of the GFC.  This was through a decline in some long term corporate or individual membership; nonetheless our functions were still well attended.  We felt this was because WIF members and their guest understood the value behind networking and continuity.  At the same time, the WIF committee used the past year as an opportunity to revisit the WIF platform and our offerings. 

We have evaluated over 600 feedback forms and conversations with our members and guests who attended our events. We understand that to ensure the value and successes of WIF – Victoria, the committee will commit to reviewing, developing and implementing some new initiatives for the upcoming year. We are passionately committed to meeting our member’s needs and your ideas and feedback is always welcome and valued.

In response to your feedback, some of the activities and actions that will be undertaken by the Committee in 2009 – 2010 include:

Review and confirming the WIF value proposition to its members for 2009 - 2010 and beyond

Continual Improvements to our Website

Scheduling of timely, informative and engaging sessions that deliver value to members

Development and implementation of a periodic newsletter

More networking time at our events

Leveraging of supporting organisations/members to assist with the professional development of members (e.g. WIF Toastmaster club & WIF VIC Mentoring Program in the pipeline)

Whilst reviewing our memberships, we identified Individual Members whom might benefit from upgrading to Corporate Membership.  A separate circular will be sent to you shortly regarding our Corporate Memberships and the benefits they provide.
